Eagerly would I receive from the Spirit of the World

that which can enkindle every Man,

so that each one, himself a flame,

unfold the Being of his being.

Let others seek to draw from the WorldWater

the wherewithal to quench those flames,

to paralyze, to drown as from within

all things that are.

Oh joy, to see the flame that is mankind

flare in its proper place where it resides!

Oh gall, to see the thing that is mankind

bound,

where it might leap up alert and free!
