Rudolf Steiner: "One cannot apply one's personal views about the world when endeavoring to reach a true understanding of something that involves not only humanity as a whole but indeed the whole world as such. One must divest oneself of merely personal interests. The best way for us to gain an understanding of our task in the world and of how we can be of value there is to free ourselves from what is personal in the narrower sense."
