Rudolf Steiner: "Our knowledge is woven into the current of the external reality, and in doing so we forget what should occupy us mostly. The soul is endlessly close to us. We ourselves are it. If we look into ourselves, we see the soul. This is hard for human beings to understand. Our observation is directed predominantly to that which is outside us. But should that be closer to us than that which we are ourselves?"
