The essence of Christianity: "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us"

Rudolf Steiner:  "In Christianity the different figures of the gods come together in the one, living form of Christ Jesus. This needed a great, tremendous deepening of humanity, a deepening that made humanity able not only to think the living form of space we see in Greek sculpture, but to rise to the thought of seeing inwardness in outward form, to the belief that the eternal truly lived on Earth as a historic figure in space and time. That is the essence of Christianity. This idea marked the greatest step forward for humanity on Earth."
