The unexamined life is not worth living

Rudolf Steiner:  "People today take life far too externally. They rush through life without pausing quietly to realize the nature of their various experiences. If one has grown up with a certain perception of the cosmic significance of human life, it may sometimes seem quite remarkable how far individuals are from being what they imagine themselves to be, how often they are simply borne along by life without making any strong individual impression.... Millions of individuals today are clever enough to grasp Anthroposophy. What hinders them in our time from coming to Anthroposophy is that in their souls they take life superficially, letting life flow past in its superficialities, its banalities."
