The One and the All: The Two Poles of a Spiritual Community

A Butterfly Egg

Rudolf Steiner:   "When you speak about spiritual content, you must be aware that it has to do with something living. The spiritual is a living element, and so such a group must not be something dead. In other words, the group must be a force-group. It then has the characteristic of being alive. Then there comes out all kinds of things that are analogous with an organism. The health of each part is the health of the whole. This is true also with illness. The little finger suffers when something in the small toe is not in order. If you want a real community, then you must want that the whole is just as influenced by the individual as the individual is by the community. There is then mutual suffering to live through, but also mutual joys."
