Three Amigos

In the span of the last several weeks the spiritual community in which I live — The Himalayan Institute — has suffered the passing of three longterm residents who were paragons of virtue and pillars of the community: Rolf Sovik, Reave Watkins, and Stephen Moulton. Each was exceptionally pleasant-minded, good-hearted, and well-intentioned. "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."

"Prayer For A Dead Loved One"

May my love be the sheaths

That now surround you,

Cooling all fever,

Warming all coldness,

Interwoven with sacrifice.

Live, upheld by love,

Light-endowed, upward!

— Rudolf Steiner

Rudolf Steiner:  "States and all other human communities come and go before our eyes. But what human beings have formed out of their souls, as such communities, constitute humanly conceived ideas of eternal value, with an eternally enduring significance. And when this human race once again appears on the Earth in a new form, then it will see the fruits of these elements of eternal value."
