Regarding Karma and Free Will
Rudolf Steiner: "We do not violate the comprehensive laws of karma by imagining that something which happened in the world could also have occurred differently. The law of karma...by no means excludes the possibility of freedom prevailing in the world. Fatalists who think that everything that happens had to happen in the way external sensory observation—and thinking based on this—perceives it are at odds here with those who, in accord with spiritual science, speak of karma on the one hand and on the other of what occurs in the outer world. You see, whenever something occurs in the external world, something spiritual also always occurs. The two streams flow into one another, and the law of karma applies to this confluence, so that something could easily happen differently in the outer world, and yet what is necessary would still occur."
