"Spirit Triumphant! Flame through the impotence of fettered, faltering souls! Burn up selfishness, kindle compassion, so that selflessness, the lifestream of humanity, may flow as the wellspring of spiritual rebirth!" — Rudolf Steiner

My past-life reading from the School of Metaphysics
December 12, 1990. Search for the identity of the entity referred to as Lawrence Michael Clark, C-L-A-R-K. You will search for the identity of the entity referred to as Lawrence Michael Clark and relay a significant incarnation for this entity.
We see this one in male form. We see the land area to be England. We see this one raised in a very educated family and we see for this one to have been taught from the time this one was young that this one would pursue higher education. We see this one to be somewhat indecisive and not to know what course of study this one wanted to pursue. We see therefore this one did undertake many different studies in many different subjects. We see this to be a liberals arts education. We do see that this one did focus in the area of the sciences, particularly biology, and we see this one to have a very investigative mind. We see that this one did perform different types of experiments with cells and we see this one to be very fascinated with the changes that did occur within cells. We see this one did do this research for this one's own curiosity and we see that this one did not really look for practical applications to the kind of studies that this one was pursuing. We do see that this one did have some concern as to how this one would make a living and we see therefore that this one did decide to teach. We see this one to become a teacher of high school and we see that this one did teach biology. We see that this did provide this one with the means for the pursuit of this one's own interests and we see that this one did continue the experiments. We do not see that this one did ever find practical applications for the kinds of studies that this one was doing, but we do see that this one did discover some truths about how the cells divided and how the replication did occur. We see that this one did spend many periods of time alone in these research experiments within this one's laboratory, and we see that this one was quite satisfied with this. We see that this one was married; we see two children produced; we do not see this one to spend much time or give much attention to this one's wife. We do see that this one did have concern for this one of the wife, but this one did not really have an idea of how to use this association for this one's own learning or for any purpose other than a convenience. We see for this one to withdraw at 56 years of age. We see this one referred to as Jacob Lender. We see this time period late 1700s.
What was the manner of withdrawal?
Pneumonia.
Did this one follow a religion in that time period?
Yes.
Very well. What would be the significance of that lifetime to the present lifetime of this entity?
We see at the present time within this one there is much curiosity that this one does have. We see, however, that this one does have much difficulty in causing there to be practical thinking, for we see that this one does have many different questions concerning this one's own existence, concerning the purposes for experiences that this one does see around the self, but we do not see this one to approach these questions in a manner that will provide useful information for this one. Would suggest to this one to begin to adopt a way of thinking in which this one does look to apply the information that this one does collect. Would suggest to this one to consider purposes for the questions that this one does ask, not in terms of abstract ideas but in terms of how to cause growth within the self or to aid this one in producing growth for others. Would suggest that in this one developing purposes and beginning to see a connection between the questions that this one asks and the quality of life that this one does lead, this would aid this one in becoming more practical and more down-to-earth. This is all.
And would there be any suggestions for mental exercises that this one might practice, to develop and hone the mind and the mental abilities?
The practice of concentration would be beneficial; also the use of a Ten-Most-Wanted List, in which the goals that this one does create and define are practical in nature.
Is this all, then?
Yes.
Very well, then; relax.
